College Board -SAT and The ACT are the standardized tests used by colleges to evaluate college readiness of applicants . https://collegereadiness.collegeboard.org/sat and https://www.act.org
More colleges are changing their testing policy and now requiring standardized tests. It is highly recommended that you study and take either the SAT or ACT. To know which test is best for you, take a practice test of each.
Some colleges are still test optional and some are even test blind. Test blind means admissions will not take into consideration a test score even if you have one. http://fairtest.org provides a list of test optional/blind colleges, but it is always wise to confirm the test policy on the college website.
